PURSUE COLLECTIVE MARKETING STRATEGIES
By promoting North Dakota Indian Country as a whole, NDNTA is more likely to resonate with travelers than by featuring competing tribal marketing campaigns. Once drawn in to North Dakota Indian Country, NDNTA can begin to educate visitors of the rich diversity within.
FACILITATE TOURISM PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS
By approaching product development from a broader North Dakota Indian Country destination perspective, NDNTA is best positioned to identify complementary tourism products and avoid unnecessary competition. NDNTA should facilitate investments needed to drive equitable economic and cultural impacts in each tribe.
PROVIDE TOURISM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
There are misconceptions around what tourism is and the possible opportunities within tourism to preserve culture and increase economic value. To address these educational gaps, the NDNTA is looking to facilitate tourism training in their communities to raise community awareness about the value of tourism and begin building a tourism workforce.
SUPPORT AND INTEGRATE INDIVIDUAL TRIBAL TOURISM STRATEGIES
NDNTA supports each tribe’s strategic planning effort by marshaling resources for comprehensive and participative planning efforts. By encouraging all tribes to reach a substantive planning threshold, NDNTA can better encourage accountability within and outside of the organization to the strategies in place.
